AUDITS OF PRIVATE
COMPANIES
In performing audits of private companies, we realize not all
companies' accounting staffs are current on new accounting pronouncements. The audit
provides us an opportunity to train and educate the accounting staff on new pronouncements
as well as methods to assist them in performing their duties more efficiently. We work
with each client to develop an audit approach which utilizes their staff to prepare
meaningful schedules to keep the cost of the audit to a minimum. We also hire experienced
staff so they are not being trained at the expense of our clients.
As members of the SEC Practice Section, we subscribe to a mandatory peer review of our
quality controls every three years. We have completed all of our peer reviews without
qualification. The most recent of these is on record at the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants and is available for review locally in our offices by any of
our clients or prospective clients. One of our principals was chairman of the first peer
review board for the Colorado Society of CPAs and was heavily involved in initiating the
peer review program in Colorado.
When you are ready to go public, sell a business or purchase a business, we will be there
to assist in all aspects of the transaction.
